How can I open a foreign currency subsidiary account in my wallet?

You can create subsidiary accounts kept in Czech Koruna (CZK), Euro (EUR), Hungarian Forint (HUF), American Dollar (USD), Romanian Leu (RON), and Polish złoty (PLN) in your Barion Wallet.

  1. Log in to your Barion Wallet.
  2. On the “Home” page, click on the “New currency” button and use the drop-down menu to add a new currency.
  3. After selecting the currency, click on “Create”.

If you Send money in a currency for which the recipient does not yet have a subsidiary account, one will be opened automatically.

Please note that currency conversion between different currencies is currently not available. However, you can initiate bank transfers from any of your sub-accounts held in a supported currency.

It is also important to note that a Barion account can receive transfers in a different currency, and such funds can also be transferred out from Barion. In these cases, the currency conversion is always performed by the participating bank using its current exchange rate, and the bank may also charge a currency conversion fee.

  • When receiving money: the sender's bank exchange rate applies.
  • When sending money: the recipient's bank exchange rate applies.

If you already have a Barion merchant account, you can open a sub-account in any supported currency to accept payments in that currency as well. To do so, you need to set the “Currency” value accordingly during the integration process.
